This product is used to qualitatively detect SP10 protein in human semen in vitro.

Sperm protein 10, or SP10, is an immunogenic peptide that is polymorphic and located in the sperm acrosome of its mature sperm. SP10 acrosomin exists in the acrosome and equatorial membranes of spermatozoa and usually exists in an inactive form. This protein is an essential neutral proteolytic enzyme during fertilization. Similar to trypsin, it hydrolyzes the zona pellucida glycoprotein of the egg, allowing sperm to pass through the cumulus and through the zona pellucida, allowing sperm to fuse with the egg. It also stimulates the release of kinin in the reproductive tract, thus enhancing sperm motility and sperm motility. Acrosomase is essential for sperm motility and fertilization.
